Anti-Bullying Week

Here is what's coming up this week:

• This month's book reports are due Wed, Feb 29. Just a reminder that if you add up your child's minutes before sending it in, it really saves me a lot of time! :)

• Wed, Feb 29 is Anti-Bullying Day. It will be a non-uniform day if your child chooses to wear a PINK shirt!!

• Pizza Day will be this Friday. The students who are organizing the pizza days have said that orders are due today at 3pm. If you missed that, unfortunately I will be unable to accept orders tomorrow. :(

• This Friday morning we will be building skyscrapers! If you are available and would like to help out, I would greatly appreciate it! Please send me an email letting me know you're available.

Reminders and Tidbits for Feb 20-24

• Wed Feb 22 – Bake sale – Send some change with your child to
  support our graduates

• Thurs Feb 23 – Student Led Conferences. Sign up sheet is just inside the portable
  door if you have not signed up already.
  
• Friday Feb 24 – Pizza day
  
• Pleas continue to send old newspapers to school. We will
  need a lot as we are planning to build skyscrapers with them!!
  

Valentine's Week!

Tomorrow is Valentine’s Day! <3

It will be a non-uniform day; send your child in red, white, and pink! Please feel free to send any treats or snacks that you would like, as we will have a bit of a party in the afternoon. Also, a reminder that if you send Valentines, make sure there is enough for all 20 studnets in our class to ensure we maintain the sens of community and inclusion we have been working hard to attain! :)

Here are the tidbits for this week and next:

• Pizza lunch this Friday – Forms were due today; send them
  tomorrow at the LATEST
• Bake Sale next Wednesday, Feb 22
  
• Student Led Conferences next Thursday, Feb 23 – please sign
  up on the form inside our classroom if you haven’t already!
  
• We are still collecting building materials. Keep sending
  your recyclables and newspapers as you collect them. We will need a LOT of newspapers!

Long Overdue

Hello all! I apologize that I haven't posted in a while! The internet access in my portable has been giving me grief, and thus prevented me from gettting a post out to you good people. Here are the tidbits for this week:

• 
  Thank you to everyone who got their child’s book reports in on time! The book reports for February are on a pink sheet. Both book reports on are that double sided sheet. They will be due Feb 29 this month. I encouraged most kids to take home another reading log entry page, but please let me know if you need another one!
  
• 
  We are just beginning a new science unit on Structures! As a class we will be collecting ‘building materials’ for a few activities and experiments, so if you happen to have these
  items around your home could you please send any of the following by this Friday:
  Popsicle sticks, straws, marbles, milk cartons, string, yogurt cups, pipe cleaners, newspapers, masking tape, cardboard and boxes, aluminum foil, a sponge, tin pans.
• 
  
  In a couple of weeks we will be hosting student led conferences. I have posted a sign-up sheet for conferences on February 23 after school. Up to 4 families can sign up for each block.
• 
  We have another pizza day coming up! I have sent forms home for Friday, Feb 17; please have them back to school before Monday, Feb 13.
